Contrary to the advice you’ve heard ad nauseum for the past 20 years, according to Walter Willett, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard University’s School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, you should go for the full fat dressing on your salad and forget about the low-fat or non-fat options, at least if you are concerned with heart disease.
Are you confused? Dr. Willett understands just how confused most people are by the amount of contradictory diet and nutrition information that is available on the internet. You can basically find support for diametrically opposed views and every possible position in between. In the area of nutrition and diet, he says, “there is no shortage of beliefs and strong opinions. It’s like religion in many ways.”
